Bed Time Bible Beam: What If?

I came across this picture while going through my Instagram feed a few days ago, and I wanted to share it with you.

You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God. (ESV The Second Commandment)

I am so guilty of this! My phone never leaves my side! I'm constantly checking it, and I know I'm not the only one! What if we all put our phones away for a week and used our Bible instead! Could you imagine waking up every morning and grabbing your Bible to check for God's "Good Morning" text? And then opening it at night before saying good night? I know most of us have a time in our day when we sit down to talk with God, and to read His word. But what if we turned the tide. What if we only checked our phone at that certain time, and only talked to our friends for an hour each morning or night? For the rest of the day, we'd constantly be pulling our Bible out, and absorbing more of what God had to say! It sounds pretty hard to me! But, then I think about this: I consider God my very very very best friend, yet I talk to him less than I would any other friend. What if I was in constant communication with HIM the way I am all my other friends? What IF? For the next week, I'm going to try this! Would you do it?! Would you join me, in taking another step in our relationship with Christ, to put Him first, above all things! Even our cell phones? Lets really put forth some effort into being what we say we are! Tomorrow morning, before we touch our phones, lets see what God has to say! Let's take our Bibles with us to work, and to school, and out running errands, so that we don't miss a message from HIM! Lets be watching and listening for what God has to say, ALL DAY LONG! Let's communicate with Him how we feel at all times throughout our day, instead of texting a friend for advice!! For one week, I'm taking the challenge! And I challenge you to do the same! I can't wait to see what God does through this! God Bless You All!

Celebrating Christmas

"Cleaning the Counters,
Sweeping the Floor,
Decorating the House
For Parties Galore!

Gingerbread Men
To Hang On the Tree,
Relaxing with a Cup
Of Orange Spice Tea!

Wrapping the Presents
With a Plaid Ribbon Bow,
Driving By Houses,
Their Lights all Aglow!

Spending Time,
With our Family and Friends,
Trying to fit it all in,
Before the Season Ends.

Taking Time,
To Slow Down for a While,
Remembering..
This is all about the Birth of One Child

The Child Who grew Up,
And Was Nailed to a Cross.
Who Died for His children,
So they wouldn't be lost."

Welcome!

Hi Everyone! Welcome to my blog, Brooke's Beaming Blog!!! I'm SO excited to get into this! I love to write, and I love to share my writing with people, which makes this perfect. I'm going to share a little bit about me to get started! So here we go!

My name is Brooke Elaine Pruitt... My middle name, Elaine, is my mom's middle name, as well as my Granny's middle name. I plan on keeping it going, if i have a girl when I grow up.

I'm 15 years old.. but not for long! I turn sixteen in January, and I'm pretty excited!

I love Jesus with all of my heart! I'll post something in the future with more details, but I met my savior, Jesus Christ, when I was four years old. That day, He became my Best Friend, and my All in All! Since then, we've grown closer and closer, and He's never left me through the good or the bad!

I love my family.. I'm sure you'll be hearing a lot about them! My mom, Tina, my dad, Mark, and my little sister, Lexi, are all just the greatest family I could ever ask for! Along with them, I have the most amazing grandparents, cousins, and aunts and uncles! I'm really so blessed to have them all!

I love all my friends! What more could I say! Every single one of my friends, new and old, are just amazing! I would try to name them, but there's just too, too many that I love so dearly!

I sing Southern Gospel Music, the best music ever, with The Pruitt Family! Before I started singing with my family, I led praise and worship at my church. This really helped in training me to be  a leader. Through my church, I learned so much about what it means to stand on a stage and lead people, and more importantly about what it means to lead people off a stage; to live my life as an example to my peers, but more importantly, to live a life pleasing to the Lord. But now, God has called me into something a little different. I'll be posting something later on more about how we got started singing, and about what Southern Gospel Music has done for me in my personal life.

I want to go into missions. I know for a fact, that God has called me into the mission field. I believe that what I'm doing through Pruitt Family Ministries is a mission in itself, and I plan to keep on singing for Jesus! :) But, I want to start an organization that really makes a difference, and through that, I want to lead people to Christ. What that organization is, I don't know yet! :)

I do online schooling.. Yes. I am home-schooled! And what a BLESSING it is! If it weren't for this, I wouldn't be able to sing with my Family as much as I do!

Well, that's all I can think of for now! I'm sure that if you read this, and you keep reading my posts, then you'll learn much more about me. But more importantly, through this, I hope you learn more about HIM! I hope that in someway, something I say, will bless you, and will make you want to strive to know Him more! And if you don't know Jesus today, I pray that you would make the decision to follow Him.

God Bless You ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
